Ayurveda, which means “Knowledge of Life”, is one of the oldest recorded medical systems in the world. In fact Ayurveda has been credited with pioneering the body-mind-soul connection to health. Originally from India, Ayurveda is experiencing great popularity around the world due to its strong focus on prevention, rejuvenation and its ability to address diseases at their source. Ayurveda gives people the tools they need to live long, healthy and happy lives on all levels – body, mind and spirit, and recognizes that these are all interwoven. Ayurveda is often referred to as “Yoga’s Sister Science”.

In this workshop you will learn:
•    What brings harmony to our life and health and what obstructs that natural state and why?
•    Basic biological principals or “doshas”, how to determine your dominant dosha(s) and how this affects your overall health.
•    Learn how you get out of balance and what you need to come back into balance and vibrant health.
•    How the five great elements of nature express themselves uniquely in each of us.
•    Other factors that influence our health from an Ayurvedic perspective.
•    Integrate aspects of Yoga philosophy and experience to deepen your understanding and recognition of the
connection between state of mind, health and wellbeing.
•    Information to empower your life and health on a deep and lasting level.

The timeless knowledge of Ayurveda as taught by the learned rishis of India helps us to understand our unique body and mind constitution known as prakruti. This is how the elements of nature express themselves beautifully and uniquely within and through us. Then, it shows us why we are out of balance, the causes of the dis-ease, known as vikruti, and how we can effectively regain our natural state of harmony and balance.

To do this, Ayurveda utilizes foods, lifestyle, herbs, meditation, yoga, massage and other therapies, with self- knowledge and awareness being key ingredients.
